On December 11-12, 2023, Avicenna - Batumi Medical University participated in the first international conference "The Role of the Third Mission in Universities - Local and Global Perspective". The conference was held within the framework of the institutional development project "Strengthening the quality and relevance of the third mission in Georgian universities" (SQUARE) funded by the European Commission. At the conference, third mission stakeholders held discussions on topics such as the third mission challenges in universities, university-local municipality cooperation, the role of the Ministry of Education and Science in strengthening the university mission, university-industry cooperation, upgraded external quality standards regarding the third mission assessment in HEIs, institutional policy and practice.
